Join Fellow Members as a Founding Donor of the Haig Point Foundation
In June of 2019, our 501c3 charity offered you the opportunity to “be one of the first 100 Founding Donors to support the Haig Point Foundation and be named on the website and on a plaque within the Haig Point Clubhouse”. As of November 30, 2020, 62 Founding Donors have contributed over $135,000 to support Daufuskie Island by participating in our Founding Donors program and attending /supporting our fundraising efforts to benefit our community. Only one month remains to join us in supporting Daufuskie Island by becoming a Founding Donor of the Haig Point Foundation or increasing your donor level.
Together, during our 18 months start-up, we have raised in excess of $160,000 and begun the following programs:
Set up a $50,000 emergency fund for clean up after a natural disaster.
Established a Scholarship Program and awarded our first scholarship to a Haig Point employee attending HVAC technical school.
COVID Emergency Response Program
Purchased 500 facemasks and partnered with the DI Fire Department for distribution
Purchased, prepared, and worked with the First African Baptist Church to distribute food and DI restaurant gift certificates to families in need.
Made a donation to Volunteers in Medicine for their work to provide COVID tests, flu vaccines, and a drug take-back program to DI residents.
Partnered with Mill Village Ministries, Deep Well Project, and Second Helpings for a virtual fundraiser to help feed families throughout South Carolina.
Created a Grant Program to assist other non-profits serving Daufuskie Island.
Awarded a grant to the DI Hurricane REDDI Team for the purchase of first responder cots.
