Gullah Cemetery Cleanup

The Haig Point Foundation teamed up with the Daufuskie Island Gullah Heritage Society and the Hilton Head Gullah Cemetery Preservation for a group clean-up of the Haig Point cemetery on Saturday, February 20th.

This cleanup was part of an island-wide volunteer project to clean-up the cemeteries on the island including Freeport and Bloody Point.

Board Member, Adam Martin, helped facilitate the effort by organizing transportation via the Daufuskie Island Ferry as well as securing a grant via the Foundation to provide lunch for the 60+ volunteers involved.
