Gullah Cemetery Cleanup Day

Saturday the Webb Tract Cemetery on Daufuskie Island received overdue attention from a group coordinated by Galen Miller, Chairman of the Board of Hilton Head MLK Committee for Justice (HH MLK CFJ).  Along with the HH MLK CFJ, the group consisted of volunteers from the Daufuskie Island Gullah Heritage Society, Hilton Head Gullah Cemetery Preservation, and Daufuskie Island residents.  Haig Point Club provided ferry transportation, resident Sallie Ann Robinson provided bus transportation and Haig Point Foundation provided lunch for all volunteers that came for a day of pruning, raking and hauling debris away, helping restore another island cemetery.

Giving Tuesday

On this #GivingTuesday, the Haig Point Foundation wants to express its thanks to everyone who has donated to us throughout the year and to those that have participated in our fundraising events. We are grateful for both the generosity of all of the auction bidders as well as the auction item donors who contributed to the success of our recent Fall Fundraiser, helping us attain 92% of our fundraising goal to date. This also includes those that made donations to our General Fund and our Scholarship Fund during and since that time which added to its success.

For anyone who has yet to participate, we encourage you to consider making a gift in support of our nonprofit Haig Point Foundation, supporting Daufuskie Island through the preservation of green space, community enhancements, and other special needs, including our Scholarship Fund and Emergency Relief Fund.

Haig Point Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
