Katelyn Cason, Christiana Kinard and Ed Null will be working on their Bachelor's degrees. Dr. Carole Rizzo Baum is taking Life Saving instructor courses. The Haig Point Foundation Board of Directors gives careful consideration to all applicants. The Foundation offers financial support to Daufuskie Island residents and Haig Point employees in support of their quest to further their education.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with our 2022 Fall Auction Fundraiser for the Haig Point Foundation. Some of the key functions include soliciting items for listing in the auction, classifying them, and assisting in distributing the items post-auction (during the week of November 20th).
If you are interested in volunteering your time to give back to the island, please let us know. The foundation also graciously welcomes donations for the auction. If you have an item to donate or wish to volunteer on the committee, please email us at info@haigpointfoundation.org.

Haig Point Foundation awarded a Scholarship to Dr. Carole Rizzo Baum
Haig Point Foundation awarded a scholarship to Dr. Carole Rizzo Baum for Basic Life Support Instructor classes and necessary training equipment for her to provide free CPR classes to Daufuskie Island residents as well as basic first aid instruction. Dr. Rizzo, an island resident, expects to complete her requirements and offer classes beginning this fall.
Haig Point Foundation assists Daufuskie Island Fire Department with purchase through grant program.
Introducing the newest member of the DIFD fleet, our multi-talented equipped UTV, able to serve beach, dock, and deep wood fire and rescue needs. We at DIFD have increased our capabilities to better serve our residents and visitors to Daufuskie island. Since Memorial Day 2022, it has assisted in numerous beach rescue calls and a brush fire. We would like to thank Haig Point Foundation for their grant that assisted in the timely purchase of this unit.

AED Equipment Donation
The Haig Point Foundation continues to support all Island residents by providing life-saving AED equipment to the Daufuskie Island Ferry Company to be available as residents and guests travel to and from the Mainland.

Your generosity helped us raise over $37,000 for initiatives on Daufuskie Island including our Scholarship program and supporting the preservation of green space, community enhancements and other special needs. In response to need of island residents for COVID home test kits availability on Daufuskie
The Haig Point Foundation has purchased a limited supply of Covid at home test kits. There are two tests per kit and these will be available upon request at D’fuskies Store and Eatery. These take home test kits are available while the supply lasts at no charge to any Daufuskie resident.

Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation Website Upgrade for Supportability and New Functionality
The current Museum Website is built with a software version that is no longer supported by the Vendor. This upgrade project will move the website to current technology for easier, lower-cost ongoing maintenance and enhancement. New features will be implemented, including improved security and increased compatibility between all kinds of devices such as desktops, laptops, phones, and tablets. With this updated system, the website will include an online store for donations, membership renewals, and sales of bricks and books. This enhanced web platform will enable the DIHF to provide more information for residents and visitors alike. The site will also provide improved mobile application compatibility, which means that if access the site from your phone, it is very easy to navigate the site. The new site will provide improved formatting options for the website. The current DIHF website is very outdated. The new website will enable our staff to communicate with participants and greatly improve the accomplishment of our Mission Statement.
